Logiciel RH cloud ou sur site : comment choisir

Logiciel RH cloud ou sur site : comment choisir

Most HR software today is sold cloud-only, and for many companies the cloud is the right answer: no servers to maintain, automatic updates and fast rollout. But 'cloud-only' quietly excludes a large group of organisations - banks, government-linked entities, and companies in jurisdictions where payroll data must stay inside the country or inside the building.

The decision usually comes down to four questions. Where is your payroll data legally allowed to live? Some regulators and internal policies require employee and salary data on-premise or in a private cloud within national borders. Who manages your infrastructure? On-premise assumes you have an IT team that patches servers and manages backups; if you don't, the cloud does that for you. How customised is your environment? Deep integrations with on-premise ERPs sometimes favour having HR on the same network. And how fast do you need to move? Cloud deployments go live faster; on-premise gives you control over when and how updates happen.

The practical answer for many mid-sized organisations - especially in the GCC, where data-residency expectations are common - is to choose a platform that offers both models with the same functionality, so the deployment choice is a policy decision rather than a product compromise.

Magnar HCM ships the same platform both ways: full SaaS in the cloud, or installed on-premise / private cloud, with identical modules, the same GOSI and WPS compliance engine and the same ERP integrations into SAP Business One, SAP, Oracle and Microsoft Dynamics. Companies switch models as their policies evolve without re-implementing.

Whichever direction you lean, make the deployment question part of vendor selection - not something you discover after signing. The cheapest cloud subscription is expensive if your regulator later tells you the data cannot stay there.
